Judging from most people that post their lists of issues it seems like this DTC is often set and has no symptoms.
I’m guessing it’s the result of a software update being done to the ECU at a service and the the CEM or other modules not being updated just to recognise the new ECU checksum.

I read a post that said this is known issue and Volvo will fix it for free. Doubt that as they want £160 for a DTC scan I hear.
The reason I ask this is that my neighbours 2015 S60 has this DTC and a low battery warning. He repalced the smaller support battery thinking that this would cure the issue. AFAIK the support battery is not monitored and is only used to power sundries while the vehicle engine is stopped in stop/start mode and it is there to help with the volts drop as the engine restarts.

That’s my understanding too - these are very sensitive to the main battery and will display the warning and turn off stop-start well before the battery even shows slow cranking.

I've been digging around and found this for the V70 but should still apply to most Volvo start/stop cars.
