Updated yesterday.

First journey experience:
Google Maps took a while to sort itself out; with the map missing, it slowly filled itself in.
The rear cameras are no longer working.

Hi folks

Running an S90 MY21, and main dealer 2 days ago updated it from 2.14 to 3.1.9. Not sure why I was still on 2.14 because ISTR I did an OTA update a few months ago which took it into the threes.

Seems pretty much as before, except for when I went out today and parked up for 10 mins. When I restarted the car the centre display was all white, I couldn't bring up maps despite several taps, and phone tab showed phone as disconnected.

A couple of restarts later, the map function came back...slowly... and when I started to drive away it came back fully. Sorry that's not very scientific but that's what happened.

I read a forum report of the rear cam not working after the latest update, but mine has worked without a hitch, and still does.

The only other thing I've noticed is a considerable delay after issuing a verbal command such as "take me to" or "change temperature to..." etc. - it can take up to 6 seconds for the lady voice to ok it. Previously it was almost straight away.

I continue to monitor it...

Oh and the app is still as buggy as ever.

After installing the update, which took a lot less time than the predicted 90 minutes, I took my MY22 V60 CC out for a spin. I noticed two changes, one a bit meh and the other I was very pleased to see;

1) In the Sound Optimisation settings there is no longer a ‘Passenger’ setting, just ‘Driver’, ‘Rear’ and ‘All’. BTW, I confess I was a bit disappointed with the HK sound system when I first got the car but am now very happy with it. I would recommend anyone feeling the same to try the ‘Driver’ sound optimisation as that made a big difference for me (as the usual driver).

2) When pressing the middle button on the left hand side of the steering wheel the car goes straight into Adaptive Cruise control mode, rather than me having to cycle through the auto pilot setting first (which I think I would never find myself using anyway).

So all in all, a useful update.

Since the update on my V90 i have lost the ability to change the cabin temp from the main screen, i now have to go into the separate cabin heater screen to adjust, hardly first world problems but annoying all the same, other than that i have noticed no other changes

Hi, have you tried simply saying ‘Hey Google turn temperature up to 20’ for example?

Or just press the speech steering wheel button and say "temperature to 20" or "passenger temperature to 22" you don't need the hey google then, and don't need the "turn" and "up" either.

I find voice commands much easier than the touchscreen for most things

Mine updated yesterday.

Still has the same bluetooth bugs that were introduced in 3.0:

1: Media connection shows as connected but isn't and requires deselecting and selecting again before it will play from the phone.

2: Play button requires pressing once, waiting a couple of seconds then pressing again to start playing at the start of each journey, but then stops and starts as expected until the next power on.

Neither of these two faults were present under 2.xxx.

Can't see any differences though.

As well as the suggestions to use voice commands, have you looked to see if the ventilation system is set to separate controls for both sides of the cabin or for one temperature for both sides?

On my V90 if it's set for a single temperature then I can adjust it on the main screen (blue and red arrows) but if set for individual driver / passenger temperatures then I have to go into the climate control screen.

The upgrade may have reset this without you realising.

A warning to anyone who is on holiday while they update to 3.1.19.
I got notification on Saturday evening to install the update.
Started the update and got notification on the app it was completed.
I noticed on the app the car was greyed out and still said installing software.
Went out the next morning to pack the car ready to go home and the car would not open with the fob.
Called Volvo breakdown assistance and was told a technician would call me back.
He eventually called an hour later while all the time our bags where sitting in the car park as we had already checked out of the hotel.
To cut a long story short, I was able to open the car with the key hidden inside the fob, and the car would only start with the fob in the cup holder.

Got home ok without maps working, and luckily it was well signposted home.
Technician arrived at my home yesterday morning and was able to reinstall the update after 2 hours.
Google maps is still still a bit clunky, but hopefully will sort itself out.
Lesson learnt. Don't update while on holiday!!
