Pilkington still have / make them. I got mine done on insurance, it was Auto Windscreens that supplied and fitted it iirc.

Not only that, but they may be able to produce one with in-built heating elements, though you would need to modify the car's wiring to accommodate this.

Replacement screens are also generally bonded into place now:~
Originals had been with mastic, worth looking at previous forum mail regarding types of windscreen rubber seals to use. The last one I had replaced ('88 240 estate) on insurance cover with a slight change in spec- tinted top band & Pilkington glass. I wanted to retain the seal with chrome insert and this had been accommodated but required adjustments by me. Bob. |

Thanks for the comments on this subject, I will check how mine is fitted but its believed to be the original, I was hoping to maybe get a good second hand one to keep things original but might leave it to last and get one fitted.
regards

All 240 screens are bonded. The original bonding stays very sticky and flexible, its sticks back to itself when you cut it. During the 80's and 90's replacement screens were fitted with a sealant that would go hard. Those replacements will then usually push out!
