Gear sticks M41
Could someone clarify that the M41 with J overdrive gearbox has a different gear stick to an M41 eith a D type .

There are different shift levers. I don't know that it is related to the overdrive. The parts manual picture implies that the changes are related to chassis / production number; but, you would want to check the footnotes in the actual parts manual to confirm that. There seems to be some gaps in the numbers on the pictures. The production numbers may or may not correlate to the change in OD.

When I upgraded my M40 to a J-type M41, I carried over the shift lever, so I imagine anything would work.

Most but not all were different. The 1969 1800S has the later overdrive but the same gearstick and remote linkage as the earlier 1800S cars
|
