Checked with another local Volvo dealer and the 6 yr service is indeed £900 plus, but not because of the cambelt, but because it includes the diesel particulate filter renewal. The cambelt doesn't come into it at all. I'm happier to give the DPF a miss than the cambelt, so booked in for the normal service instead. Going to have a word with the local dealer about this cam belt mis-information though, caused me a lot of stress for nothing. Think he has just seen the price and guessed what's involved without checking. And to think I was going to Volvo to make sure I got the expert reliable service! A bit let down by Volvo if I'm being honest... Thanks again.
