How much Amps from D5 alternator
Hi all
I am very happy owner of S60/D5/163hrs/2002 volvo and i wonder how powerful alternator is in this ar? Am i correct saying that its 160Amps? I am planning to buy battery to battery charger (link below) for fast charging of leisure lithium battery https://sterling-power.com/collectio...37760785842365 Will drawing 60A on continuous basis to charge the lithium leisure battery be safe or can i be cheeky and draw 100A without burning my loved car? Any opinion or tip will be highly appreciated. Thanks a lot in advance! |

I can't help you as I have no experience with these units.
However, many vehicles came with an auxiliary battery setup. I'd check into that "tried and true" technology and see where or how the lithium battery could fit into the picture. Why a lithium battery for your application? |

I would think it would take 60A providing you don't have all your lights, heaters on at the same time.
However, where are you thinking of connecting it?. Cigarette sockets are only 15A. |

yes cig sockets is not powerful enough hence battery to battery device is needed to split the charge in the boot between both batteries.
