Well guess he would say that wouldn't he !! he wanted to use any excuse to give you less for your car !!

No contest for me
A good Volvo specialist who have invested in the proper Vida test equipment every time,, all have been from new,, never been "chiped" back on a vehicle for not havering approved main dealer to specialist stamps

Up to three years old I want to see main dealer stamps only and a nice long computer printout.

I then do my own servicing with some jobs outsourced.

I agree that dealers will do anything and say anything to knock the price they offer for a trade in.

But if I was a franchised dealer I can see the point they may only want to stock the most premium of used cars and that meets Full Volvo History.

Mine was actually serviced by the same main dealer till I got it.

They still managed to overlook the condenser though, which I suspect was leaking slightly before I bought it then got gradually worse.

It was never as cold as I expected it to be, when I gassed it up with the DIY kit it was very cold indeed for a few weeks then gradually went back to not so good then nothing.

I also don't like the ability of main dealer staff to treat you like somebody that knows nothing when usually it is him/her that actually knows very little.
