ETM - no new software for 2.4T
Hi there, have just registered today to express my frustration at Volvo over the ETM issue, hence the username. Have just been informed by David Blackman at Customer Care that there is still no software upgrade available for the 2.4T, and that he has no idea if or when it will be rolled out!! He did tell me that I would only ever have to pay for a new ETM once (some comfort?), and that if it failed again it would be replaced free of charge regardless of the usual 1 year warranty on parts.
I am so sick of this dog of a car that I have decided to bite the bullet and trade it in for a Honda. I thought I was being all grown up by going Volvo but it proved to be the most expensive mistake of my life!! Good luck to you all, but I'm off to reclaim my sanity! |

Was this from Volvo UK, or just from your local dealer? It would be interesting to know if this is a subtle shift in policy by Volvo - effectively having a lifetime guarantee on a replacement is at least better than the prospect of having to fund multiple replacements.

Also, I would have thought there were more 2.4Ts about than Rs, and I've had the software upgrade. Not to gloat though, still have had the same intermittent problems in the first 1000 miles since upgrade.
The Warranty point is very interesting though. Oli

That was direct from Volvo Customer Care 08457564636, David Blackman Ext 5011. I would urge everyone concerned to call this guy and see how many different responses to the same question he comes up with. I don't trust a damned word to come from the Customer Contempt Dept!
