Hi to everyone (new member here).
I'd be very grateful for other S40 2008 1.8 petrol owners out there if the bite point on their clutches is high. I've put down a deposit to buy the car having been assured by the salesman that this is normal in an S40 - I'm now not so convinced and would appreciate comments of reassurance or otherwise (car has 57,000 miles) Many thanks Simon |

I had a 2003 S40 and when I bought it with only 8000 on the clock, I thought the clutch biting point was high in comparrison to other cars I have had before and since. Clutch operation was fine and i soon go used to it.
Does the clutch slip? |

Put it in 4th and with the handbrake on let the clutch out, it should stall. If not it will slip and mean the clutch is indeed on its way out.
