Question Fault codes V50 1.8l petrol

Hello and thank you for reading.

My 2006 1.8l petrol V50 on board computer display ('Message Read' button and two clicks of fog light button to activate) suggests there are fault codes stored but none are showing up on an OBD reader.

Any suggestions as to situation are welcome, thank you.

The computer display shows :

CHECKING DTCS
then to
DTC IN VEHICLE
with
BCM CHECKING
BCM DTC SET
SWM CHECKING
EPS READY
CEM DTC SET
SRS READY
CCM READY
DDM CHECKING
DIM READY
ICM CHECKING
PDM CHECKING
PAM READY

A "Reduced Engine Performance" message appeared briefly several times recently so a code on the OBD reader was expected.

Thank you for reading.

Following this post, and a few "Reduced Engine Performance" info warning there was then a "low battery" warning, and soon after the battery was dead.

The replacement battery was a 75A instead of the previous 60A.

There have been no further info warnings.

Default Low battery

Volvo seem very prone to having "issues" caused by a low/poor battery output.
Why this should be I don't know, but I know in other models ABS + SRS warnings can be given if the battery is low/poor.
Glad you appear to have resolved this with a new battery.

You may need a DICE to access any stored codes (or a better Reader)

Cheers

Bob
