Default D5244T21 D4/D5 engine

Hope someone can help me out with some technical information about the D4 engine that is used in the AWD versions of the V60CC and XC60.

The engine designation is D5244T21 and I know it is a 190hp/420Nm 2.4l 5-cylinder engine which is effectively a "de-tuned" version of the 215hp D5 engine (220hp for the 2016 MY). What I'm interested in is how it had been detuned - specifically is it a software detune or is it a single turbo version of the twin-turbo D5. It is interesting to note that the available Polestar tune for this engine effectively restores the engine back to 220hp/440Nm.

The reason I'm interested is that we could be looking at the V60CC D4 AWD late this year when the V60CC arrives downunder. I'm hoping its just a software de-tune rather than conversion back to a single turbo engine because being familiar with the D5 engine I was never impressed with the older single turbo versions of this engine.

Any information would be appreciated.

Tony

If its AWD it will be twin turbo as you carn't get a single turbo AWD now the older xc90's have been discontinued
