Default Engine System Service Required

Hi,

I have a C30 D5, and the 'engine system service required' light has illuminated. This is the second c30 i've had, as I didn't like my old automatic gearbox.

After a service on the previous car, the same light appeared. I drained some oil out and thankfully the light cleared after a few days.

The newer car I have now has the same problem, I have drained the oil to midway on the dipstick, traveled 500-600 miles over this weekend since removing the oil and the light is still on the dash. From memory, the previous car cleared within a day or so with less miles done.

I have searched on the forums, and this is a very common problem. Is there anything else it could be?
Possibly a faulty sensor unit?

Thanks

It could be one of many things, only a scan on a diagnosis machine will say for sure

I thought that would be the case.

Has anyone got any information about buying VIDA that you install on a laptop yourself, to do some at home tests rather than paying a lot of money for volvo to do it?

Thanks

You could try the reset using your ignition key and the trip button, some vids on youtube, there is also a sequence that shows you the fault code. 019 is the oil level. I have this on mine but it wont reset as Id rather have plenty of oil, would love to find where the sensor is and try link it out.

Just an update. Popped down local garage (not volvo) plugged in the laptop and cleared all faults. Oil level sensor was on there, cleared and now hasn't returned.

On the vida device, to confirm that would work on my car and on windows 7? I read on some you need XP etc

Thanks

The Dice I sell comes with Vida 2014d.
This only works on Windows 7 Professional.
Your laptop can be either 32 or 64bit but it must have
3gb ram minimum
30gb minimum free HDD space

It must also be running Internet Explorer 9

Yes it will definitely work with your car.
