Haltech ECU fitted ... :-) Figures etc
It's been a while since I've done it update on the progress on my 850r Volvo and the rebuild on the engine and the change of management system if you're looking for a quick read this probably isn't it .
Try and cut a long story short it started to knock so took it out for a spin and I really didn't want to get rid of the car because I absolutely love it. Anyway I made the decision so go ahead and fix the engine and whilst I was doing this to modify it I've put in it Wesco pistons and forged rods, and race King bearings this was all done at machine shop because I didn't have the facilities to check the clearances so the bottom end was built by them. I put the cylinder head together at home and also fitted a set of normally aspirated cams,750CC injectors , NA thottle housing, Reverse intercooler on top of this a K24/k26 hybrid turbo made by AET in Normanton. Already fitted a limited differential to it in the gearbox and done a manual conversion which I was quite happy with however I have change the clutch pressure plate to an RS2 Audi using an original R friction plate. Already had the reverse intercooler setup and a snab air intake at 3 inch. At this point I was ready to have Shem or Tim sort my map out etc and update ECU but this seemed to be impossible as they either would disappear for months and then try and pick up months later.. I needed it doing. After looking into what seems to be every ECU on the market I decided to go with a Haltech 2000 ECU and add a few more sensors on top of this to protect the engine and give me more options I didn't want to lose the factory dash and wanted to keep all the functionality. https://photos.app.goo.gl/ZUKcxbwxkH6H9Yfr5 So I took all the original ECU out of the car and all the original wiring loom and put a brand new wiring loom in the car to connect to the new ECU which I was putting in the same location as the old one unfortunately wouldn't fit in the box but that's not too much of a problem. On top of this I moved onto coil on plug using the Volvo Bosch R coils, VE tuning, removed the MAF and added air temp sensor, oil pressure sensor, Oil temp Sensor and Fuel pressure. The new ECU also had Knock protection but not set this up yet as im getting base for engine noise first, its quite internally noise as its all forged!. Chris at Crisp tuning spent 120 ltrs of fuel tuning it for me. https://www.facebook.com/crisptuning/ Anyway I know that everyone probably wants to see the number. I just want to say that I have made sure that this car is 100% totally tuned on the safe side, we moved the cams and they are exactly where they are need to be. Also timing is pulled back and was on 95 ron. Anyhow.. Scores on the doors. 307BHP 380nm Ill add 2 links for the arse clenching moments it was on the Dyno ! https://youtu.be/0CTaI5jZckI
