ABS light.
On the 99 T5SE auto, I’ve been battling with an ABS light issue.
So far the rear speed sensors have been replaced. The front ABS rings have been done. After this the lamp remained on and a snap on code reader said Right front speed sensor. Today that was fitted and the light was cleared , but after a short spin it returned and on light braking I could feel and hear the ABS cutting in. Do a harder brake and it doesn’t cut in. After the light coming on , the code reader pointed to that Right Front Sensor again. Got the front wheel up and set reader to real time mode and it seems that new sensor is reading intermittently…. Could be a duff one I guess, but any thoughts ? Oh the speed sensor make is Ridex, German I think. TIA.

1 Ridex is only sold via Autodoc and I believe to be a cheap own brand part.
2 These often give all sorts of codes relating to various speed sensors with an illuminated Abs light. 9 times out of 10 the fault is actually caused by the Ecu located underneath the abs pump. Usually a wizz around the inside with a soldering iron to reflow the pins fixes it. |

As above, but I'd check that there isn't a problem with the new ABS rings first, just because they are new doesn't mean that they couldn't have snapped, split, got something stuck in one of the teeth, not been fitted directly in line with the sensor etc., you never know......
All the best mate
