1998 940, diagnostic light stays on
Among the list of things my 1998 940 estate failed it's MOT for was the ABS light not comming on, which turned out to be due to the bulb being removed, probably because it does not go out when expected.
I've had a look at the front ABS sensors and they both appear to be open circuit, so I'll look into getting those replaced. I'd like to use the onboard diagnostics via the OBD type connector under the centre arm rest to see if there was any other complaints from it, but the diagnostic LED never turns off after turning the key to position two, neither does probing the other diagnostic pins change the state of the LED. Any suggestions of what I might be doing wrong? As per this thread, I'm trying these pins 1: ignition 3: fuel 5: ground 7: SRS (possibly) 12: ABS 13: cruise control 16: +12v |

Do you have any other warning lights on with the ABS light?

I jury rigged a few crimp connectors and a LED to make my own from bits I could find in my garage of a Sunday afternoon.
Just realised that I had the momentary switch on the diagnostic pin (12 for ABS) when it should have been on the ground (pin 5) which gives me a fault code of 1-5-1 This is the correct way around of wiring the simple reader https://www.volvoforums.org.uk/showt...=247444&page=3 |
