Driver window motor died?
Ok, so first post. Have tried to search but could not find a similar thread.
My 2005MY XC70 driver window has stopped working, thankfully in the up position, after the recent cold spell. All the others are fine, so not the fuse. Pressing the driver window button makes no noise at all. So it is switch, motor or wiring? Have plugged in my ICARSOFT V2.0 and on the driver door module it detects me pressing the button both down and up, so it is not the button. So that leaves a wiring break or the motor? Don't think it is the wiring, just a hunch and I would need to start stripping it down to be able to tell if it is or not. I need to use the car for now so can;t have it off the road for more than a day. And my unheated garage is way too cold to faff around in until I have an all in one solution. Am willing to buy an eBay window motor and swap them out (don't need the whole regulator) for a few ££. However, there are a lot more rear driver door window motors listed and far cheaper than the driver door. Does anyone know if the motors on one side of the car are interchangeable? I don't have a part number at hand and I can't strip the door until I have the replacement (dilemma). Any positive thoughts gratefully appreciated. |
