Thanks, I did in the end. Turns out mine has had all recalls done. Or at least according to their database...

just hours after picking up my girlfriend's C30 D5, the dreaded "Engine System Service" warning 019 came on. I did worry a little!
thanks to those who have contributed on here, my research shows (a) there is a service reset sequence (but doesn't work for this error code), and (b) it is overfill of the oil causing the error. a quick call to my local Volvo dealer and they confirmed that all recalls (washer pump & oil level) have been done, so I guess the criss-cross marks on the dipstick are the new levels to stick with. they also confirmed the service schedule of the car, and that the last Volvo service was as stamped in the book, and it is only due a minor service (although £240 seems a bit steep for oil, oil filter, cabin filter change and s/w upgrade) - anybody any experience with whether it is worth sticking with Volvo main network, or a better value independent specialist? Quick Update per above. about a week of running after drawing the oil out, the light finally went out.
does anybody know if the recall brought a new dipstick into play? i.e. do we still go with the 2/3 to 3/4 up the dipstick rule, or has a new dipstick with a lower full line been put in place at the recall? Pete |

https://www.check-mot.service.gov.uk/
Or go on MOT website and you can check both MOT history and outstanding recalls against your registration number. P

thoughts
Hi efcblue,
Good choice on the C30 with the D5 you have a great combo, the oil level on the original dipstick should be max 3x ,s from the top i dont think there was ever a new dipstick with a lower top level but worth remembering if you top it up with oil (which you shouldn't need to much if its like my D5), theremwas also a software update to do with regen of the Dpf around 2010 so incase its never had this would be worth hooking it up to vida - re servicing the pollen filter is a pig of a job from memory think you need to remove the glove box to get at it on the C30, so might explain the service cost as prob the majority of time probably messing with the pollen filter 😀 |

Volvo C30 59 SE D Auto
Hello,
Recently the side light on my Volvo c30 (59 SE D Auto) has gone out. I have replaced the bulb - but there is still no illumination. Im hoping that the problem is due to a blown fuse however I cannot find the fuse location. I have checked the fuse compartment under the bonnet and under the glovebox. Some forums mention there is a smaller fuse box under the steering wheel, but this is for older and different car models, does anyone know if the same applies for the Volvo C30? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Regards Nzo |
