Xc90 D5 - Engine Whiring noise on acceleration

My 2017 XC90 D5 with 60,000 miles has developed a whooshing (or is it a whirring?) sound under acceleration. there is a slight delay from pressing my foot on the accelerator to hearing the sound but it’s very consistent. No noticeable noise upon start up, and possibly slightly more noticeable when cold.

I have previously had a turbo hose replaced which was a similar sound - except the engine management kicked in and power was limited. This time the power is fine, just the noise which is getting slightly more noticeable over time.

Is it a powerpulse?

It’s not unknown for the power pulse pipe to split, and as it’s only on acceleration it could be the issue, and the EGR pipes crack too, would be worth getting it inspected
