Have other PHEV owners tested their heating since this up date, it was a bit chilly today and we realized we can only get heat with the petrol engine on....Doh! trip to the dealers needed I guess.

Wonder if this update 'fixed' it

Its not just the oddly named "additional heater" defaulting to off in the new SW is it?....apologies if teaching granny and eggs etc, but I remember something similar with mine a a while back and that was the advice on here, which worked. Look up auxillary or additional heater in the manual, but its in settings Im sure.

Nah, tried that, turning it off and back on again, and rebooting the entire system, no heat in electric mode, think mine is borked.

This is my fault I was just saying to someone how well put together it is, how well it all works and zero niggles, that'll teach me, jinxed it

Is it because you don't have an EV charge point at home and are using the 240v cable?

The feature they really need to add is to enable 3rd party API access so you can use stuff like Intelligent Agile without needing a specific charger.
I have a smart wall box that you can schedule a charge time with however, from collection of my MY22.5 XC60 until the scheduled charge timer was brought out on the Volvo App, I could not utilise this successfully with my car due to the fact it would fall into a 'sleep' mode between plugging the car in and the charger coming online at 00:30hrs (when my overnight cheap rate starts). The issue here is that the car would not accept the incoming charge due to being asleep and as such, the car would not charge.
The work around for this was to have the wall box initiate a trickle charge once plugged into the car to keep it awake and once my cheap rate kicked in, the wall box would switch to full rate charging.
This worked but from plugging in until the cheap rate started, the 'trickle' charge was charged at full rate.

Now the scheduled charge timer on the App is correctly working, my overnight charge is 50p cheaper than before as the charge only starts when my cheap rate begins.
This is a considerable saving and the main reason I use the scheduled charge timer on the Volvo App (just as I did with my MY20 Sensus XC60).
Im assuming that the MY23 cars didn't go into the same 'Deep Sleep' as mine did preventing the charge from starting but for me, it was very annoying as my charging costs ended up being higher than they should have been through no fault of mine.

So there you go, you now know someone that does use the Scheduled Charging function.
