Ive recently bought a 2004 S60 2.5T SE with geartronic box. It has a claimed 65000 miles and I can see the cam belt was changed at 40,000 miles, but 10 years ago. To be safe I am thinking of changing it now and I was looking at prices for a genuine Volvo belt. Ive seen a kit which includes the belt, idle roller and tensioner for about £200.00. Is this something I should do or just get a belt? And what would be your thoughts on the replacement of the water pump as well?
Great forum; thanks guys. |

I would leave the water pump alone, if its a genuine one that's on it. Volvo don't actually change the water pump on a cam belt service. If its original, leave it alone. If you do decide to change the pump just for extra peace of mind, only buy genuine Volvo.
