940 headlight wiring upgrade
I need to upgrade the wiring to my headlights on my 940 Celebration using additional relays fed direct from the battery.
My one concern is the dim/dip circuit which was still an OEM fitment still on my 1998 model. How would this circuit be affected by interrupting the feed to the headlights via the relay? Would I need a diode? Anyone else had to do this ?? |

The dim/dip lights on a late model 940 are automatically turned on when the headlight switch is in the "off" position via the blue relay "M", second from right, front row of the relay tray.
I guess what you do to manage this depends on whether you want the dim/dip function still to work following your mod and where in the circuit you propose to install your new relays. Also, whether you want the sidelights to come on without the dim/dip headlights (questionable legality) or disable all the lights coming on unless you switch them on. You can remove fuse 25 to disable daylight running lights on some models. |

Can you not just install LED replacements.
This is what I have done and the beam pattern is perfect. But loads brighter and a much whiter light. |

I think you are probably right,Swanny in that the original three pin socket will just be operating the relay, rather than the bulb directly. Looks great to have a ready assembled kit...
and the only way to try is to buy. |
