For a time there was a warning in the instrument panel of my 2015 S80 D4 that 'oil service required' which I understand is because there is too much oil in the sump which is due to fuel used to clean the particle filter is dumped in the sump.
It is no longer giving a warning, could it have sorted itself out? I have tried checking the oil level but using thumbwheel on left hand column stalk, 'oil check' is greyed out and appears to be unavailable |

you will need to take action on this if the oil is contaminated with a large quantity of diesel you run the risk of a diesel runaway which may totally wreck your engine. new oil and filter and a reset of the oil quality and level sensor will solve your problem.

You need to turn ignition on but not start. The manual should have the procedure. It took me a few goes to get it to work the first time.
