Default engine hesitation on light acceleration

2015 Volvo V60 D3 Diesel D4204T-9.
Any suggestions on this one, on light acceleration engine kicks or jumps, on hard acceleration everything is fine. No fault codes. It was suggested that the MAF sensor was faulty. It's strange I replaced the existing MAF sensor with a known faulty one the car runs perfectly but throws engine check light on, replaced the faulty MAF sensor with a new one and the car starts hesitating on light acceleration, with no fault codes I don't know which avenue to go down so I'm open to any suggestions/ help on this one.

Behaviour that you described sounds to me like O2 sensor problem. At least, that's how it started with my car. In the beginning, only light acceleration was jerky, later I started to feel it under havier acceleration.

Did you ever get to the bottom of this issue?

I’ve occasionally noticed something that sounds similar with mine. Tho mine is usually at steady speed.

I’ve datalogged it and found it seems to co-inside with the EGR actual position overshooting the desired position. I’m guessing the valve is starting to get clogged/sticky and plan to clean it in the near future.

The broken MAF in the OP probably “fixes” the problem because the car needs the MAF data to run the EGR system, so doesn’t try to move the valve with a broken MAF.

turbo control valve is sticking your probably down on some boost aswell you could try cleaning yours with break cleaner then giving it a bit of silicone lube, new one is £80, i had the same problem car was hesitating before 1500 rpm felt like it was holding back put a new one on running great again
