Default Dislodged headlight washer cover - how to replace?

Earlier today my other half managed to reverse our Yeti into the NSF quarter of our V70 despite the parking sensors telling her to STOP. Go figure...

This has pushed the headlight washer cover out of alignment a bit. I can realign it by hand but it won't stay put. Any ideas on how to do the job properly please? I found an article in the Archive about pulling the fuse while the washers are activated but it seems to involve two people and relations are a little frosty right now as she also broke the rear reflector on the Yeti. She doesn't do things by halves.

I can't directly help with your issue, and sorry to detract from your post, but if you get nothing else from the experience, you did make me chuckle ! You have my sympathies, broad shoulders and all that.

Ultimately, tread carefully, remember you do have to eat !

The washer must be up to re-fit the cover (believe me I tried to do it without raising it)

You have 2 options, as you said above
1) pull the fuse at the exact time it is up and it will stay up
2) You can manually pull the mechanism up.. It does take a lot of force to do this and it could be bad for the mechanism, but it can be done. Obviously I don't recommend this method as you are going to be angry with me if you break it 🤣

Another option is to power the headlamp washer pump via a 12v Milwaukee battery or similar. They are pressure operated so powering the pump will fire them out then simply disconnect whilst they are out. Access via front of wheel arch liner on near side

Thanks for your suggestions (and sympathy) folks. Because the misalignment was only slight I decided to operate the washers a couple of times to see if it would right itself, which it did. As for the Yeti, I found a used reflector on eBay for £18 posted. Ten minutes with a squirt of T-cut saw things looking a lot better.
Marital relations are back to normal. What made this little incident particularly irritating was that I moved the Volvo out of the garage because a newly fledged family of Swallows have begun cluster-bombings it. I told 'er indoors this and offered to move the car if she would find reversing awkward. I received a withering look and a sharp reply so I left the scene. You know the rest.
