Because of the awkward position of the fuse box, I could only get a probe into one slot, no.4, and there was power there. I removed all 4 fuses and they were ok. If there is power to one fuse, it should follow that there is power to all of them
I had checked the fuses a week or two ago and assumed that because they were ok, that the problem was power to the fuse box. I did not have my test meter available and had jumped to the wrong conclusion.
It is strange that there does not appear to be a problem at the fuse box, yet everything that it supplies is off. As far as I know, the only time that anything has been disturbed would be when the dealer fitted the towbar and electrics as part of the deal when I bought the car so, assuming that everything worked before then, I wonder whether a plug or connection has been disturbed. The problem is that access is difficult and without wiring diagrams it is impossible to identify any of the many mysterious black boxes or follow the wiring through to check it.

Thanks for the pointers Clan, I have checked all the fuses mentioned and all is ok with them.
I think I have had enough now and will have to take the plunge and head off to the dealer - after all, the car is under warranty. I will post and let you know the outcome when they fix the problem.

Well I finally got the car back to the dealer today and they have sorted the problem, I did not get a chance to speak to anyone in the workshop but the receptionist said that they had found a broken wire between the fuse box and the REM. I dont know how accurate that was, but I enjoyed a good massage on the drive home!

My drivers electric sear massage function has an intermittent fault or rather it occasionally works but usually doesn't
Sturgess have had a look but couldn't work out what the problem is.

It's in at the moment because it had a catastrophic electric failure (ABS, brakes, speedo, rev counter, central locking, windows etc.) on Tuesday took it to Sturgess and they reluctantly accepted but haven't bothered to phone me yet to tell me anything. Good job I've got a spare car. Oh and it's done 6200 miles.

Not sure what the problem with the massage seat has been but I'll post when I do.

Have you read the owners manual ? It works in cycles to give you a rest from a constant massage ... .

Really is that what a massage is?
Intermittent pressure in cycles?

Forget the owners manual I obviously need a dictionary

Good morning,

I have the same issue, 2012 d5 executive, installed the Westfalia removable Trailer hook and now no power to the 4 fuses of e exec extras (no seat massage, ventilation, back heaters etc). So before I start to troubleshooting, does anyone has the right writing diagrams? Or the solution, like I have read that problem is common, but haven't found any solution so far.

Regards

I believe this is how it is really intended to work.

Yes, mine too, but the massage is definitely an "intermittent action function"

My heat switch isn't on the side though, unless you mean it blows warm air through?

Must admit I've never tried having the blower on along with the seat heater.

PS I also have a towbar (self-fitted) but using the OEM trailer module and of course being an Exec there was a "T wire" already connected, to make hook-up really easy.

Cheers

Dave
