Default Oil for a d5 0/30 or 5/30 a5.b5

I have 530 a5b5 volvo say it's it's fine to use but everywhere all say030. It's done 157 and plan on doing a oil chance every 5k for the next 20k just so I know it's all good. And on top of that I've have oil in the water so it's preventing measure.

5w30 is fine for the UK climate.

I've used 5w30 in my car (A5/B5) spec many times. Never had an issue, plus the handbook says it can be used.

Have you sorted the oil in the reservoir?

Volvo only specify 0W/20 for use in the UK. It will help your fuel consumption too .

When did 0/20 become the default?

Never heard of 0w20 for a P2 D5?

Maybe a typo...

In my head it was 5w30 on Euro 3 cars with 12k service interval, then 0w30 for Euro 4 cars (A5/B5) (2005my onwards) on 18k intervals? Then 0w20 for Euro 6 cars (2016 my onwards) ?

Yeah that’s how I understood it, never come across 0w20 for anything other than the VEA engines. Surely 20 grades a bit thin for these older higher mileage cars

Can you explain please - had it changed and you were unaware, or what, exactly?

I put our 2012 into Opie, a well-respected (the most respected?) supplier's system and 0/30 still comes out.

Need to clear this up.
