Replace Standard to High Performance Sound C30 possible?
I've bought a used C30 to repair mine. I noticed the bought one (I can scrap everything) has High performance Sound. I would like to move it to mine, if possible.
I read few posts and apparently there might be a problem with different wiring? And perhaps something needs to be overwritten in VIDA? I would give it a try, but first I'm interested if anyone has done that before or has more in-depth knowledge. Thanks! |

If I am correct, all the speakers need to be rewired to amplifier in the trunk and amplifier needs to be wired to front with now non existing optic fibres?
It seems like a lot of work - probably taking all the trims out? Still wonder if anyone has done this or know what needs to be done exactly. |

I did away with the OEM audio system in my V50 and put in a Pioneer 1-DIN headunit and a 5 channel amplifier plus new door speakers and a subwoofer instead. I stream MP3 music, Google Maps and phone calls from my phone via Bluetooth, or I listen to DAB+ radio channels, all in better quality than the crap Volvo/FoMoCo installed when the car was new.
I can't listen to CDs anymore, since the Pioneer I bought doesn't have a CD player (and if it had, there'd be no way to insert the cd as the Pioneer is installed behind the LCD in the waterfall), and the chimes for the seatbelt warning cuts out when I drive more than 40 km/h, but that's fine with me. I don't like only having 20 songs on a CD and I always fasten the seat belt before starting to drive, anyway. If you want to go with the OEM upgrade, you will likely run into problems with the new modules you'll be adding as they need to be coded to the car (or vice versa) before they'll work and it's not something you can just get your local dealer to do, at least that is what I gathered from reading scores of posts about this on different forums. |
