Oh yes...
35mm front and 75 rear (binned the police spec rear suspension) I did the first run of bushes before lowering it tho.

Looking good, that reduced height in the strut due to shorter springs would aid install.
That's the problem solved then, we should all be slamming our V70s, makes swapping the control arm much easier.

I'd recommend not using apex springs on a p2 unless you plant to make it a track car, they are bloody hard lol.

Still miffed my wife wrecked on of my black Thor's... (I have four of both... but the silver ones are very used, the black ones were (before hitting a curb...) in pristine shape...) As a side note, the silver one has a leaking tire after having replaced it a few months back due to being slashed. Not sure if we did it by hitting something sharp or if someone doesn't like us, but having the same tire fail AGAIN within months made me wonder, but I tracked down the leak to be between the tire and the rim, so probably just dirt. Depends on the position of the tiree if it lasts weeks or half a day, so the wife had a real issue today...

that's probably corrosion on the rim causing the leak, have them refurbished and you'll probably be fine.
nice car that, I have a real soft spot for that spec V70 in that colour (189.2) they're getting rare now and having put a lot into getting mine up to a good standard, I like to see another getting some love. I've seen too many shells get crushed

I first read this thread some months ago when planning my own control arm replacement.
Now I've done it, I thought I'd contribute to point any future viewers in the direction of my how-to guide. I show how replace the control arm / wishbone in under 20 mins with no risky drivershaft removal...........or stub axle bolt removal..........or droplink removal. You will need a ratchet strap for my method. http://www.volvoforums.org.uk/showthread.php?t=210593 If it works for you, give the above thread a "thanks" and the YouTube video a "like" as I'm a needy type who wants encouragement to make more, simple DIY videos.

Apologies for this late text on this thread.
Can't seem to find the solution . One bolt on the wishbone is so rusted away that just spins in itself and mechanic can't take it out....any ideas how to proceed? Grateful for any reply Last edited by LuisC; Jul 3rd, 2024 at 16:42. |

we did ask before on that same question (https://www.volvoforums.org.uk/showthread.php?t=340832) which bolt? the advice would vary depending if its the vertical rear bolt or one of the two horizontal bolts from the other side of the subframe
if the latter, can you at least undo the other one and get the wishbone off. replacing it would be a case of ordering a new bolt (obviously) then jacking the engine up slightly and carefully to get enough clearance you may or may not need to remove the engine mount under the pulley end and the top mount to allow it to rock over that way sufficently to allow clearance ? others might be able to confirm that I've not done it Last edited by stuart bowes; Jul 3rd, 2024 at 16:57. |

if you do end up taking the drivers side engine mount off for movement, consider replacing it at the same time because it's not hugely expensive and you've done half the work already
