Default XC60 T5 2018 oil change and diagnostic tool

Hi, I changed the oil in my car today. The recommended volume is 5.6 liters and I only poured 5 liters and then added a little more, but I didn't do it because the computer still shows MAX. Do I need to reset something with the diagnostic tool? I don't have one so what should I do?

I would also like to purchase a vida or other device for diagnosing my car. I checked ebay but someone selling there told me that vida won't work with my car. It is a Volvo XC60 T5 2018. Can anyone tell me what device I can buy and where to get diagnostics?

I found one dice cable on ebay but I will have to use vdash for which I have to pay subscriptions, what is the difference between such vdash and the device you mentioned? does it have more functions or is what you provided enough?

I'll think about it, I still need to find out what exactly vdash gives me when I connect it to this scanner. As for my question about the oil, do I need to reset anything through the diagnostic program or is it enough that I have driven 30 miles and it should show me the current oil level?

Vida will not work with your car unfortunately, it only works up to 2016 cars which is basically non SPA cars, the older platform stuff.

Technically the oil level gauge should be reset but it updates itself after 20 miles to your new level. You say you have added 6 litres? This is more than should be added. Have you driven the car yet? You may get oil over filled message. If this is the case you may have to drain some back out. Easiest way is via the filter housing.

V dash is probably the best tool to use for your car. Plenty of info on the internet and will allow you to do everything you’re asking for and more.

I drained about 5.4 liters and put 5 liters in, not 6. I have already driven 40 miles and nothing has changed, it still shows max. Today I will check the offers on vdash

It would definitely be easier... Does anyone have Vdash and can tell me how much this program costs for basic functions such as engine oil reset, gearbox fluid counter reset, brake service mode? The information on their website is not very clear to me.

Unfortunately changing oil these days is no longer simple.
The dealer has to reset the oil level gauge every time you change the oil that shuts off the warning until it has calculated the correct level which takes about 20 miles. You might be lucky and it will put the level gauge right after you have driven 20 miles.

What grade of oil have you used by the way? There is a unique specification of oil you MUST use in this engine. Volvo spec 0w/20 VCC RBS0-2AE

The Vida changed after 2016 where a new system was used which only the dealer has and is on line only .
