Apps on Carplay are not the full-as-you-get-on-your-phone versions.
The restriction on Google Maps that has really irritated me is not being able to select alternate routes (things on the map aren't selectable) you have to do this on your phone before plugging it in. It is all very slick though, perhaps a bit disappointing that there aren't a wider range of Apps available and they aren't all full featured. Nice having the phone tucked inside the armrest and not in a holder. A pain when I keep forgetting the take the phone with me into shops and get stranded at the checkout without Apple Pay! |

I see what you mean. We have CarPlay in my wife’s car but I had not realised that the apps were reduced versions. I prefer Waze to Sensus sat nav which is one the main reasons for getting CarPlay. The other is the access to WhatsApp’s etc. I am almost certainly going the ISUDAR route to get full screen and WiFi connect, the latter means the phone can stay in my pocket!
