If it's anything like my delivery those statements need to be taken with a large pinch of salt. Mine said the car was with the dealer long before it actually got there. I found that Volvo UK, the app and the online status often disageed as to the actual status.

As expected the app continued to show the 3 years, Dealer has now chased Volvo to learn he was wrong.. its was not 4 years (in sept 2023) for EV cars to match the 4 year loan (despite the order saying free servicing (worth £1499). He is also refusing to provide the alloy/tyre insurance that he confirmed verbally when i collected the car (saying paperwork to follow) as he now says I opted for the £2000 loyalty discount instead... these two things were never linked in our conversations/emails.

very miffed with Volvo Guildford

So I placed my order for an XC60 Ultimate Dark on 15th February 2024. And was given an estimated date of Late June.
Over time this changed to Late May and varied between that and Late June.
Early this month I was updated to say the car had left the factory and from mid June I was told the car is at the dealer, waiting for confirmation of CO2 emissions and model year.
Got a call on Wednesday 19th June to say model year was 2025 and it was an Ultra Dark, not Ultimate (as I has expected) and there was a minor change to the interior as the full nappa soft leather has been changed to include some textile inserts.
Got a call yesterday to say delivery would be from next week and confirmed delivery date of Tuesday 2nd July.
So that's 138 days from order to receiving the car. 4 months 17 days.

Not too bad.

Default Car at Port for last 4 weeks

I ordered my Volvo Mild Hybrid XC60 Plus in May. The car was built early June and has apparently been at the Port in UK since 10th of June.

Every week I call the customer cenre , I get told that this is waiting to be delivered to the retailer but they can't give me a definitive date. Has anyone else faced this issue? Any suggestions on what I could do to potentially expedite this? I ordered online and the retailer that is supposed to receive my car has been really unhelpful. So any suggestions welcome.

Seems like we ordered a similar spec stock XC60 at the same time. Mine was built in June but the first registration date says end of May on the paperwork. The vehicle is at the Bristol port currently but I’m not 100% sure how long it’s been there for as it was only shipped from Sweden. My retailer rang me yesterday to complete final bits for paperwork/deposit and pencil in a handover date in 2 weeks time (subject to there being no further delays in transportation from Bristol). I can’t imagine you’ll be waiting too much longer as our timelines are pretty similar.

Thanks. Could I ask when did you originally place the order. I just checked my credit agreement and the First Reg date is early may , exactly matching the date I had placed the original order, although I was told that the car wasn't manufactured until early June.

Just had a look and funnily enough the first reg date is the same date I placed my order as well (end of May) so obviously that doesn’t give much of an indication. I think I remember being told my car was being built on the 17th June but a few days before that date my online account updated to say it had been built and I’d be notified when it ships. My account then didn’t update until a few days ago when it said “Preparing for Handover”. The next day my dealer rang and told me the car was in Bristol (I just don’t know how long it’s been there for).

Thanks. So finally had some good news. I called / emailed customer care over the last 2 days and kept getting told that the car is still at the port. I even asked them to open a complaint.

Then randomly tried my luck yesterday evening with the retailer. I first get told by the person on the call that the car is at the port and that it is due to be delivered to them end of the month. And 30 minutes later, I get another call and get told that the car just got delivered earlier in the day. Finally agreed on a handover for early next week. So hopefully will finally get there.

So I dont know if this is just a case of overall incompetence or just Volvo and their retailers deliberately building in buffers because they have a backlog and hence keep saying the car is at the port. Anyway, if helpful to others this is my timeline . This was for a stock car but supposedly not yet built when I placed the order

Order Placed: 05th May 2024
Car Built: w/c 1st June 2024
Car at UK Port: w/c 10th June 2024
Car at Dealer: 11th July 2024

Did any of you get the additional "loyalty offer" that Volvo are advertising for the XC60? It says you need to contact a Volvo Specialist, but I'm just wondering what exactly it is. The current price is too high for me to justify changing but I'd be interested to know what the extra discount is.
