The vibration transmitted up the steering column from the engine caused the most appalling steering wheel vibration I have ever experienced.

Replaced bumper brackets
Finally got round to replacing the bumper brackets just over a week ago and boy did they need doing. The long vertical bolts only just came out without snapping. The 2 smaller bolts that hold each bracket onto the frame also required a lot of patience. Copper grease on everything I put back.
Whilst I was there I also liberally coated the exhaust hanger with silicone grease as I had to drop the rear exhaust in order to access the bracket bolt. |

MOT time again
Took the V70 Tdi for its annual MOT today to the local Volvo dealer who has done every MoT on the car to date. Happily it passed but with with two advisories, both for minor cracking on two of the tyres. I'll treat it to some new ones.
I was quite amused by where they parked it after the test! |

What is also interesting is that the V70, back in the day, was considered a large car. Parked alongside a current 'monster truck' it looks positively Dinky.

Indeed. It was dwarfed by most of the other vehicles there.
