Default Electronic Dipstick

How successful is everyone reading the e-dipstick - it is driving me mad as it only works about 1 time in 20 - possibly even worse than that

Luckily the oil level is still the same as the day I got the car last year

You do scroll round to it if it isn’t there initially do you?

Have tried all sorts - just end up with 'press Pedal to start' or something similar have had the arrow to the right, but never been able to get to it

most frustrating...

dont worry , if the level is too high or too low you will get a warning message .. you do have to scroll a bit to find it though , volvo recommend you check it every 1500 miles , but i think a bit more often is better .

it is very easy if you follow the following steps.

1. get into car by yourself
2. close your door (won't work if any door or alert is happening)
3. insert key
4. don't touch any of the pedals/brake/switches
5. hold down the start button for 3+ seconds
6. scroll through the system messages...

One more step is needed to make this work every time:

5a. Press the "Read" button on the scroll stalk

There is invariably some minor alert (e.g. Rear seat belts not used) that needs to be acknowledged before the system messages can all be read.

Yep, that is the correct sequence, I think you will find that I was amongst the first people to post this method in the forum last year, and I have continued to use it

My issue is that lately, past few months, it has been less than reliable in providing a readout. Luckily the car is due it's first service in 4 weeks and I can have them look at it then.
