Default Safety Recall Campaign Rising Oil Level

My XC60 has just been in to the local dealer for a recall regarding rising oil levels, I was advised that my vehicle required a final software upgrade - be warned, all navigation settings will be reset and stored locations will be lost, there was no mention of this either in the recall letter or by the dealer !

Is your XC60 a 2.4, D5 or D3 please?

I seem to remember that someone mentioned this a few weeks ago, he was not best pleased either.

What year is your car - is this a new recall or is it just an old one that you are catching as you have a new car?

The recall number would be useful

Hi, it is a 2009 model and I only just received the notice dated 26th August, dealer needed the car for half a day with no loan car provision for over a month, not good enough for a Safety Recall !

Hmm - worrying, my car is a 2010 model on 59 plates and is due the first service in a couple of weeks - hope I don't end up with issues as the car is perfect at the moment.

Would prefer a better MPG, but then if you want grunt in an engine you pay for it with lower MPG - mind you I have gone past the lead footed stage that I see (and did) in people driving their nice new 60 reg cars on the A3/M3/M25
