This is where things like this become very subjective.
If the function that has been removed is something the user utilises then yes, it can be classed as reduced functionality and inferior quality compared to the previous iteration.
However, if its a function that the user never utilised (e.g. I cant remember the last time I plugged anything into the USB connection in either of my Volvos as I charge my mobile using the wireless charging pad and stream my media via Spotify) then for me, it means that the developers can concentrate of other problems within the AAOS rather than attempting to make a function I personally dont use integrate correctly with all the other tech.

If there are more users in the former category then Volvo/Google should do something about it to bring back the lost functionality and perceived reduced quality but if there are more users in the latter category (which is clearly what Volvo are assuming there is) then its a done deal and Volvo save on costs.

Is it still possible to switch between Pilot Assist and ACC on the steering wheel, or not? Forget the speed limiter, I do not care about that, never used it. But switching between PA and ACC is crucial.

No, they come as one now, but apparently going to come back onto the steering wheel left right buttons at some stage.

All the functionality you mention was available on the Volvo App with Sensus cars, this has not yet (but always promised) been transferred to the AAOS cars app platform.
This, for me, is the biggest loss between Sensus and AAOS, things like the driving journal and the location tracking on the Sensus cars was very impressive and something i used alot, in some ways it was too good as all data from every journey was tracked!! A bit of 'Big Brother is watching you'.
However, like the introduction of Apple car play (another function I have no use for) we will likely have to wait a long time for these to be re-introduced on the AAOS platform, if ever.
