So its just Google you have a problem with or do you also have issues with all the others who horde our data for their own benefit?

I never understood why it is such a big deal that companies are gathering data? You are not public enemy, the data is aggregted. They don’t give a damn what you are doing as an individual. They only care what the tens of thousands of people are doing. Sorry to say, but you are not that important, just one single row in a database of trillions of records.

Main reason I stopped using this forum. Full of angry old men who do not have a clue about modern technology, who buy cars then moan about its features, features they could, if they had been bothered, to understand BEFORE they bought. For the half a dozen decent gents on here, I wish you luck.

I think you are mixing up two groups. One of them is who complains about AAOS in general and the other one who complains about Volvo’s development capability to add new/old features which are present in other (even lower segment) cars or were present in Sensus. I love gadgets, innovation, but what Volvo has been doing for the last 2 years is a joke in terms of implementing new SW features. I actually want Volvo to exploit the potential in the AAOS even faster because their current speed is a joke compared to the competition.

When the Sensus came out in mid-2010s it was way ahead of its time, but now Volvo’s interpretation of the AAOS system is far behind the competition (MB, BMW, Audi, etc and I am not even talking about non-premium brands).

Exactly why I picked Volvo is because I beleived in the potential of AAOS and expected Volvo to be as innovative and fast-moving as they used to be a few years ago. They should put way more effort into the infotainment system.

I'm wondering if we'll see a step change in AAOS functionality once the EX30 and EX90 appear on the road. It's more than possible that a lot of Volvo (and friends) effort is being focused on the next generation of cars.

The big question for this forum is whether Volvo will include any of that development back into the SPA family. I'm not holding my breath!

This is my biggest concern that Volvo will neglect SPA cars in favour of the new EV platform… and we will be stuck with a beta version for good.

Never thought about it that way before. My objection is that Volvo is removing features from it's cars from an options list devoid of options designed to get you to trade up to lots of in car features that appear to be absent from newer vehicles. Sensus is great in my car and if the Android replacement is at least as good then I'm in as long as they let me have a Core XC90 with about £4000 of extras rather than trying to force me to buy an Ultimate at £16000 more.

As for tracking ever since I got a mobile phone I've assumed that everything I did and wherever I went was noted. No issues with that.

Have you ever considered simply going into the setting sub menus and switching off all the background tracking functions? Its very easily done. That said, Apples insecure and easily cracked leaky technology may be more you thing.

The deep irony is that you almost certainly used Google to find this place!
