You can use either I think but the 110 usually has a slightly higher capacity.

I've just noticed the 096 are not all 190mm high, some are 175mm like the 110 batteries. I wasn't sure if 190mm would fit so went for 110. And like you say, they are higher capacity, the one I got is 85Ah 800A which I'm looking forward to

I think (rather than know) if you get the higher battery the cover doesn't fit properly.

I’ve read that on here too…but it was V70 not S80…can’t see how they would be different but you never know…
Also iirc there was a “modified”cover that is an option (police?) but was £50. Think guy used tie wraps…he didn’t go for modified bit. Don’t know why you even need a cover,it’s not essential.

Cheers Bob

That's true, but the battery cover isn't absolutely essential. There's plenty of cars that have no cover on their batteries in their engine bays and seem to do fine.

As you say, the 190mm battery won't allow the cover to fit (175mm will). In that scenario, use zip ties or strong tape if you really want the cover back on in some way or form.

Tayna batteries are excellent to deal and have been accurate on every occasion that I have used them BUT don't forget to ask your Volvo dealer for a price and ask for a discount.

They nearly always come in with a very competitive price and if it fails during the guarantee period it's much easier to return.
