Plus 1 for the Smart top. Although I had enabled the ‘open while moving’ option, I never used it after having satisfied my curiosity that it wasn’t a good idea.

However, the remote opening/closing, tbh, lifted the car to another level, and should have been standard, just as it was on my Saab 93 vert.

I forget the other features - there are 7 altogether IIRC - as it’s a while since I sold the car,

we have the key less system on ours if we had this add on we would need to search out the key from a bag or pocket to operate the roof makeing key less entry and drive pointless its conveniant for us just to press the roof open when in the car not for us . but if you have it enjoy the car .

Thanks for all your replies.

Is there an article that explains all the fluid types that I need for the car in relation to auto gearbox fluid, brakes, oil, plugs, etc ?

I watched a youtue video last night about how the T5 engine needs to have the PCV replaced, cam seals, oil pump seals, when doing the cambelt. True ?

I remember seeing some documents about the C70 explaining everything about it but cant find it on the site.

Thanks Ive been searching and found a ton of docs :-)

So, its wirth rasing the tyre pressures yes ? Ive looked at a few C70s and many seem to have broken springs. Is that common ?

My car turns up tomorrow now so will see what error the ABS fault is.

Remember it's not always the sensor it can be the ring on the driveshaft that the sensor detects from.

we have had 1 broken front spring so i replaced both and the shocks at the same time rear shock mountings some times break its an easy fix = bolt on part i think abs sensor is part of the bearing.

Just a few cents from a hard top convertible owner. When the rubber gaskets and wetherstripping dry out, the top begins to squeak and sound pretty terrible on the potholes and turns. Don't forget about lubricating the metal and rubber components to ensure proper operation. I use basic silicone that I can find in my local store.

This video is about the e93 bimmers, but the same applies to the 2nd Gen C70 and other hard top convertibles alike.

I agree.

All the functions are explained in the link I posted.

I rarely use the remote opening when walking to my car, but the one-touch opening/closing when inside are useful.

I use the remote mainly for activating the roof when I am away from my car, including from inside my house, if, for example, the weather changes. It works from quite a distance.
