me too, I've been putting in 0/30 and if 0/20 is better for mpg that would definitely be a bonus. but mines a 2001

Cars of this era do not take 0w20 oil... I'm sorry, that's just *****

The newer VEA engines do, but this car in question doesn't have a VEA engine.

Stick with what your owners manual says or the sticker in the engine bay on the slam panel over the headlights. I guarantee it doesn't say 0w20 in an older D5 or even an older petrol engine.

I think Clan has made a mistake.

0w20 as an oil grade was only launched in 2006, and we know that the original D5 predates that by at least 2 centuries

Disappointed Clan that you've not been back on thread to correct the record when you've been on the Forum since several of us posted in response to you stating 0w/20.

Can you explain please - had it changed and you were unaware, or what, exactly?

I put our 2012 into Opie, a well-respected (the most respected?) supplier's system and 0/30 still comes out.

Need to clear this up.
yes sorry ! was thinking the wrong engine there

Default AŁ/B4 spec....

0w30 A3/B4 - This is getting like hen's teeth now....there are very few suppliers of this for the 163hp Euro 3 Black top engine....anyone know of a good source for this spec?
PS I wouldn't change my oil every 18,000 - it's way to long and oil is cheap compared to a new engine.....
Cheers,
Nobby
