P3 V70 rear battery box lid - Page 2

I'll keep that in mine for when mine finally fails. Mine just had the moulded-in crosshead worn away. I popped the catch out of the cover and bandsawed it into a flat-head slot. It works fine now. Total cost zero :-))

Sorry for being a bit slow here, but where/what/how did you get the 2nd piece of round plastic on the RHS of image) with the slot in it. Is it a bit you had lying around the garage?

Yep, just lying around Bob. It's a readily available pin, which I think came from Halfords and cost pence. A really simple and straightforward fix.

Here's a photo of my quick fix - just making the crosshead into a straight slot all the way across - there's plenty of "meat" in the head. Obviously no good if part of the head has broken off...
