I will. I called a custommer support line and the guy wasn't very helpful. Told me to complain to the seller.
I was like: "If you have a system to prevent counterfeit products, why are you telling me to deal with the seller. It is of Bosch's interest to prevent counterfeits."
He begrudgingly gave me info@pt.bosch.com as an email to complain to.

I went to the shop and his whole story was that he opened the box to check if the part was inside... lol
I told him to order a new bosch part but to not open the box. I will wait for it to arrive before I pursue a formal complaint with bosch, but if I have to resort to that, I think I will be luckier with international custommer support than bosch portugal, unfortunatelly.

I figure since bosch has the anti counterfeit system, as long as the box is closed, I can be certain that the part is legit.

How much was the part?

Did you try and get a refund?

109€
the guy opened by saying he was gonna send it back to the warranty, so I knew if I asked for a refund I would have to fight for it, and I wasn't in the mood. So I just said: "Yeah nah, that's not gonna happen. Either give me a refund or a new part, bosch, in a sealed box."
I would have prefered the refund, especially since on the phone he said 89€ and didn't mention that was the price without tax.

Autodoc sells the same exact bosch part for 85€.

Ouch... not a cheap part.

Hopefully the next one you get is the correct one.

When I said I want a replacement he answered: "It's gonna be the same as this one!" As if he had a freudian slip and was admitting the new one wasn't gonna be any better, lol

I'll just wait for it and make sure the box wasn't messed with and check the number on the box. Bosch has a website where you can check a code to see if the part is counterfeit or genuine. I figure if the box is closed and the number is clear, the part must be original. But his answer wasn't very reassuring.

Plus my mechanic told me about a few deals he had with this guy that made it all but certain he likes to mess around.

I wouldn't buy from him again. Just get it from Autodoc, but unfortunately, you'll have to wait for the delivery.

i won't. But this time I knew if I asked for a refund he would give me a hard time and I didn't feel like arguing.

Someone has just swapped out a non-bosch part and returned it. A counterfeit would show BOSCH on it.

It did have the symbol of bosch, very little, before the part name. After getting a replacement, I'm fairly certain it is bosch and that bosch is now using white connectors.
I received the replacement and opened the box myself and ran the code on the box on the bosch website and it said the number is legit. I don't think the box was fiddled with, so I'm left to assume the part is original and I just got a faulty one and a weird set of circumstances that made it look like there was funny business going on.
