I would keep the complaints rolling, especially with your insurance company. It's important to make it a formal complaint because without a final response that will inevitably dismiss your complaint you cannot go to the Ombudsman. Keep as much of it in writing (emails) or make contemporaneous notes and, if possible, record any telephone conversations. I bought a cheap recording machine and had any land line or mobile phone conversations via speaker. It took me from August 2023 to February 2024 to get my insurer to pay out. ^ National windscreens as per the OP did mine. My insurance excess was £50 so all in a new screen & working correctly for £120 - thhis was 10days before the policy expired & I had already arranged to move companies ( usual quote merry-go round...). So its apathy preventing me making more of it than I can be bothered with TBH. Plus I note that most companies screen xs have almost doubled this year.

I just had my screen replaced for a 3rd part one by Auto Windscreens and I am absolutely convinced the HuD is considerably clearer / sharper than it was before.
Just to confirm it was an official Volvo screen previously. |

It seems like you're experiencing a similar issue to one I had. National Windscreen installed the KXZ glass, and I encountered safety feature problems even after long driving. I contacted them, and they replaced the windscreen with a Pilkington one, but it's still not working properly. I plan to get in touch with them again, this time requesting a genuine windscreen and ensuring that all settings are aligned with Volvo technicians.

I cracked my old BMW 340D windscreen, when I phoned to book the replacement I asked for an OEM screen, pointing out that the car safety systems and the manufacturers warranty on those systems, would be invalid if a third party screen was used.
National initially ordered a third party windscreen but luckily National ring you before you turn up so I made them check the screen first before getting it installed. |

Maybe related.
The camera on my 23 V60 packed up. Volvo had to replace the screen and camera as the camera comes pre-bonded to the screen. Not sure whether an aftermarket screen with the camera unstuck and refitted would cause issues - certainly I had to have a new screen on my previous V60 and on that Autoglass had to fit an OEM screen as they said the aftermarket ones wouldn't work with the cameras - that was 2020 on a 19 car.

I visited National Windscreens today to discuss my current windscreen.
As I mentioned previously, they have already fitted a second glass, yet I am still experiencing issues with "Pilot Assist" not keeping within the lane and wanting to crash into the wall that separates the dual carriageway. Additionally, I am receiving sudden collision warnings and even experiencing braking without any reason. They tried to convince me that this is normal. I nearly lost my temper there. I drove with the original windscreen for four years, using Pilot Assist extensively, and I am very familiar with how the car handled, staying within lanes and curves. After a lengthy dispute, they finally decided to book an investigation at a Volvo service centre. According to them, everything is fine and I am just exaggerating the issues. I will update you in 3 weeks after my appointment takes place.

Does anyone know if I can get Volvo insurance administered by Wrisk Transfer Limited and if there will be a windscreen replacement at a Volvo service or through Autoglass or National Windscreen?
