I tried scrolling down and found a link, we are talking about Two different things here, the link takes you to purchasing a pair of power assisted struts at around $499 - 549 worth, where my post was for modification to a vehicle that already has power assisted struts. Sorry if I’m causing confusion.

The struts are a 'worm drive' they do work manually but with a lot of force, in my opinion it would be impossible for it to 'slam' shut.

If you're satisfied I'm certainly not trying to change that, just wanted to make people aware. It's hard to know how much work goes into a controller like the boot until you've been involved in it

By the way, I was referring to an internal failure of the module driving the boot shut at full speed, not it physically falling by itself.

How long was delivery? Ordered stuff from China before that took months to turn up....
