As mentioned I'm trying to HELP my customer out by advertising on his behalf at his initial price....... I went back to him with the comments above and he suggested he'd take offers if anyone is actually interested in buying it.........which doesn't seem to be anyone at this stage I'm guessing.....?

You have to work out whether you can give this customer a higher trade-in value with this plate still fitted, or whether it does not make any difference in the deal with, or without the plate.

If the car is more valueable with the plate, then you have to take into account the trade-in value without this plate. The difference in your valuations would be your answer.

Could the man just transfer the plate over to his new car, considering it bears his initials?

We don't get involved in the value of number plates as we don't deal with the value of them enough to have any idea.... so wouldn't take a car in with a private plate, or we would but would add no value to the vehicle. He has bought an XC60 from us, so is getting a plate with XC60 or similar on.

Anyway... we're straying off topic... would anyone actually like to buy the plate or are we just debating the value? If someone who is interested in purchasing it makes an offer I will get in touch with the customer and see their thoughts.
