Safely collected and returned home today!
Great drive back - how nice it is to be driving a proper car again. Absolutely faultless run - even the M25 was behaving! Since getting home, I've had a chance to go through the amazing history file that has come with the car, including its original Belgium and UK tax discs, every MOT from new, original Volvo Belgium (Tourist and Diplomatic) sales invoice, import documents and UK Registration Document from 1991............ including a letter from the Home Office confirming that it could be imported free of VAT and Tax as long as the owner was still employed by the Belgium Embassy!! Every single penny that has ever been spent on this car is in the file up to January this year when its owner became too ill to carry out any further work. He died in June this year - VOC membership number 26127, his card is still in the handbook pack. It even came with one or two spare parts................... some of which, (and I mean some), are shown below!! One extraordinary car that I am now proud to own - and promise to care for whilst in my ownership. The former owners Widow has asked me to thank all at the VOC for their help in assisting her late husband in keeping the car on the road, and for all the help she has received in selling the car, (via Volvo Driver), recently. Here's to a great daily driver, and many many more miles of Volvoing.

Do I detect a little muted enthusiasm?! You're obviously, and not surprisingly, thrilled to bits. As for the spare parts, are you intending to open a shop?

Excellent looking 240!
It will have mechanical fuel injection and no CAT I suspect. These are great daily drivers. I am on the M25 most days and average around 500 miles per week - no problem.

I really could open a shop with all the bits! I am going to have a sort through and see what can be passed on, I have several duplicates/triplicates of some bits so keep an eye out! Anyway, "Odin" is all washed and polished and ready to go to work tomorrow. Happy Volvo-ing all!
