Last month I had to replace my front wheel bearing. V70 D5 2015 MY. Bearing is a genuine Skf ref: vkba6531. I paid £113.52 incl delivery. Item came from their distribution centre in Tongeren.
Part ordered on line at www.vehicleaftermarket.skf.com/uk/en.
Careful when ordering as I had issues and ended up with two..., so I now have the other side covered.
Bearing is a press in, not bolt on, but local garage did job as I don't have a press.
Cheers Bob.

I could do it myself provided I buy the proper tool, but that tool will cost me almost 200 euros, plus genuine Volvo hubs/bearings: 600 euros (skandix.de).
Now we're soon ending up with the price that a garage would charge for the job. Bonus: I don't have to get my hands dirty.

In Sweden there's a popular site,-Vparts (Volvo parts) that uses neither the VIN number nor the registration number to list parts. A guaranteed way to get the wrong part, which is why I never buy from them.

I priced a genuine volvo bearing from a dealer and was quoted silly money. Not the equivalent of 600 euro ,but x3 what I actually paid.Investigation told me SKF were the original supplier of these parts. I was disappointed when my part arrived they were not stamped/marked with any identification, no ID, nothing However, neither was the old bearing when it was removed, and on close examination to me at least suggested the bearings were of the same manufacturer. Time will tell, but I'm happy with my choice.
Cheers Bob

There are for sure bad parts out there, but buying genuine Volvo parts may be a waste of money since Volvo does not make all their parts themselves.
A lot of parts are made by some external manufacturer, like break parts, piston rings, bearings, springs, shock absorbers etc.
The brake calipers for my old V40 are manufactured by Lucas.
These manufacturers also make the exact same parts with the same quality but they lack the Volvo name.
As an example INA makes the timing belt parts for Volvo, and can be had for half the price compared to the genuine Volvo parts.
The same goes for products like loudspeakers, where a Danish manufacturer produces speakers for JBL and also makes the exact same speakers but without the JBL name for half the price.

Just a bit of trivia, for those of you who didn't know, AB Volvo was a subsidiary of SKF stretching back to 1927

I do most jobs on my P3, however I had a front wheel bearing fail last year and I had it replaced by my local Volvo service agent while I went off for a coffee and a mooch round the shops. Quick, simple job and no hassle for me. My knees are shot nowadays, so I do try and involve anything that needs me to kneel... Well worth the (not inconsiderable) cost.

That's the thing,-I'm dependent upon the workshop fixing it while I wait.
If not, I'll have to do it myself.
Luckily there's skandix.de that lists parts according to the VIN-number of the car, so there's not a great chance of getting the wrong part.
They also sell the special tool for dismounting/mounting that fit the hubs you ordered.
Total price: 430 euros plus VAT and shipping to Norway which is probably perhaps half the price a workshop would charge.

I went to the local garage and they wanted 390 euros for the job provided I ordered the parts myself, so I ordered the parts from skandix.de;-250 euros.
Total: 640 euros, which isn't all that bad.
