And TBF to Kwik fit it looks split in the photos. Was hard to see. So I'll just pay £163, he said that's all in so will be to adjust lights too. Surprised it's split hay ho, thanks for all your help |

Those pictures I posted are of the near side so it's not actually split.
It was the offside one. For some reason, I thought the offside was the passenger side (being called offside thinking off from the drivers) Anyway, job all done on offside split dust cover. New arm and they adjusted my lights foc Couldn't get part off their own suppliers so had to order part from Volvo. £163 all on with free mot re-test from Kwik fit. Don't think cost too bad especially considering genuine part. |

I was convinced that from those pictures I took that my nearside (off side as I thought) was split though.
Can anyone confirm from those pictures whether it is? Call me paranoid, although I don't see why they would just tell me I needed to replace one if they were both split. Suppose it's probably hard to see unless I took the wheel off. I don't actually know what I'm specifically looking for |

I think you did shoot the drivers side, If you look at your original pictures they show the castle shape below the boot is formed where the latest picture looks like some of the castle has broken off or was never there, I suspect it broke away when they put the splitter into it and it didn't want to shift, probably had to resort to using the hammer. Two family members took cars to Kwik Fit for MOT, their final bills both topped £300. Make of that what you will.
my brother was charged for components that they broke attempting to take his car apart during repairs.

kwik fit are well known for upselling avoid them if you can. find a good local independent volvo specialist its even worth traveling if you can find and build a relationship with a good garage . check your own car over before going for an mot then they cant say there is things wrong with your car when there is not .

I never get my car MOT from a company that also repairs cars, I use a local MOT centre that only does MOT's and do not carry out repair work.
