To be able to keep within +/- 10% at the final end of the wire you have to aim for a tighter tolerance out from the transformers. Normally the frequency tolerances are much more important to keep. The aim is usually to be better than +/- 1%, although insensitive devices can typically handle +/- 4%. |

That sounds like Riverside... They wanted to charge me for a courtesy car whilst mine was in for warranty work, as it was in for three weeks, I'd have paid £315! I take mine to Ray Chapman in Huddersfield, despite the 40 minute journey each way.

To be honest, I've no idea whether my insurance would cover it, I'm going to check! EDIT: I checked, I only have third party cover for other cars. Only for me, not named drivers.

Mine is with LV. It covers me 3rd party for driving other cars as yours, however on the certificate under cars covered it states something along the lines of....
- The insured vehicle - Any vehicle loaned to the policyholder, or named driver, when the vehicle detailed above is in the care of a vehicle repairer for service, repair or MOT. Charging for insurance seems to be quite common now. Riverside used to be a tenner, then went up to 15 quid a year or so ago, but good on Ray Chapman if they are not charging it. I have heard lots of good stuff about them and I think they have a branch in Bradford too.

I sort of don't mind them charging for a loan car for servicing, but when it's warranty work, I just think it's taking the **** a little. Ray Chapman in Huddersfield (and Bradford) used to be Clive Brooks, with a similar reputation, but I think they were bought last year by Ray Chapman York & Malton. I've been highly delighted with their service over the past year, whereas Riverside, where I bought my car, couldn't seem to care less about customer service and are pretty inflexible, although I understand many are very happy with them.

If Volvo charges for having a courtesy car while the car is being serviced, they are the first make I have owned which does this - all the others would supply a courtesy car free of charge as long as you are prepared to wait longer to get your service booked in. Even Alfa Romeo many years ago I think gave me free courtesy cars, and their customer service isn't exactly stellar in general. |
