I will try to get some mechanic with code reader to come over to my place tomorrow.

If somebody could find a culprit I would send him a free ticket to MTV EMAs for the next month (7th of November) in Belfast. Its for Snow patrol concert, but if they change venues it might be valid for Red hot Chilli Peppers/Lady Gaga as well
There is more than one hole ! The top one is the TDC alignment hole if you go further up you feel the pin going down the slope of the crank web as you turn slowly clockwise thats a good check that you have the correct hole . It doesnt matter where you put the fuel pump drive wheel as it is only a simple pump unlike the timed pumps in 1999 and older diesels

Can I squeeze in a question please?

Never seen pictures of the head off before. I noticed the top of the piston is cupped and a small mushroom shape in the middle.

I have never seen a piston like that. Is that specific to diesels?

yes it's diesel, but they come in different shapes and sizes.

About the glow plugs, there shouldn't be any problems if I mix them? I noticed that one of them has a damaged tip so I just swaped it from the old cylinder head. Its a bit different tip but except from that there was no other differences.

---Update---

Swapped back to old glow plugs, still no effect...

Just wanted to be sure about torque setting for the camshaft sprocket bolt on 1.9 TD year 2003 (Renault engine) is it 60+-6 ? I am changing oil seal around camshaft, need to get those settings right.

---Update----

After 60 pounds less car is running fine now, it was a broken camshaft pulley locking thingy, its should supposed to be in the groove but it was broken off so it let that pulley spin freely basically. All fixed now. Due for MOT on Monday, I am about to eliminate the last oil sipping problem. There might be some problems with the hand brake but will see how it goes.
