Each to their own George and to be fair, the Estoura looks a lot better in the metal than in a photo. The SD1s that were converted to estate format aren't particularly pretty anymore but then back in the mid 70s, few if any estates were pretty, just functional.

In the Style of an Aldi Advertisement...
This very smart 1993 Volvo 240 Torslanda Estate with only two owners (the current one since 2004) and 125,000 miles costs £1951:

The expensive one has none of these apparent problems although there may be others unseen by photos. However is the lack of those cosmetic problems really worth £7k? Probably not but it will take a lot of TLC to bring the cheaper one up to a similar cosmetic standard.

I'd buy the cheap one for under 2 grand and make getting it into good shape a bit of a hobby - oh, that is what I do with the RB already! :-) Alan |

... I know Dave - my Aldi ad was tongue-in-cheek. I'm always dubious when people cover up the number plates when cars are for sale - they might claim it is so the plate doesn't get cloned (what, by a person with a similar 27 year old Volvo estate?) - but I suspect it is so buyers can't check up on the MoT history via the very good government web site easily (and hence check the mileage). :-) |

Either that or he's upset a few of them and they're likely to come round with keys for the bodywork, bricks for the windows and so on. Maybe all of the above!

Here's one for you - check the MOT history on that. Clocked at least three times. Convenient zero reputation on the seller as well. |

Got his deposit back eventually but lost out on his train fares etc from Dorset to the west midlands. Apparently one of these traders that keeps moving, changing ebay screen names - been investigated umpteen times by Trading Standards - you get the idea. Also i notice they haven't put decent sized photos on the listing so no enlargement possible and it looks like there are plenty of scuffs, broken trim etc that are conveiently hidden by that. Useful having a 22" monitor instead of a phone screen! As an aside, i'm very dubious of that GM V6 in transverse installations, it was good in the original set up in the Omegas etc but when they turned it round it seemed to develop weak head gaskets, especially on the rear bank - poorer cooling i suspect!
